With the agreement signed between Turkey and our sister country Azerbaijan, new identity cards can now be used in visits between the two countries. The start date of the application was announced by the Police. 

In the post shared on the official Twitter account of the General Directorate of Security, it was announced with the following words: “Two states, one nation. Turkey and Azerbaijan are now closer… Citizens of the two countries, As of April 1, 2021, they will be able to travel with a new type of identity card on mutual visits. ” it was said.

In addition, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu shared on Twitter on December 10, 2020, “With the protocol we signed with my brother, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov, Turkey-Azerbaijan will come very soon. We will only be able to travel with our identity card. This is worthy of One Nation, Two States! Good luck!” he shared it.

Let us also mention that the visa-free residence period of Azerbaijani citizens has been increased from 30 days to 90 days.
