GENERAL HEALTH INSURANCE FOR FOREIGNERS

Foreign nationals living in Turkey must have a compulsory private health insurance in order to obtain a residence permit. Private health insurance is issued for the Provincial Directorates of Migration Management to issue residence permits. With this health insurance, foreigners can benefit from contracted private hospitals at a discount. 

General Health Insurance for Foreigners

• Not insured under the legislation of a foreign country and not entitled to benefit from health insurance,
• Foreign nationals whose residence period in Turkey exceeds one uninterrupted year and who make a claim as of this date will benefit from general health insurance.

No, foreign nationals are registered under the general health insurance upon their request.

Foreign nationals should apply to the closest social security provincial/central directorates to their address.

• Residence permit,
• The original or photocopy of the letter from the relevant foreign country’s social security institution or the labor attaché showing the social security status in terms of the general health insurance application,
• Commitment form

▶ Which health services can foreign nationals benefit from?

Foreign nationals; The treatment of the diseases other than the chronic diseases that existed before the general health insured or the general health insured’s dependents are covered within the scope of the general health insurance.
